  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon vinegar (white or apple cider)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

🍽️ Instructions

1. Prep the Cabbage

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

  2. Core the cabbage and carefully place the whole head into the boiling water.

  3. Cook 5–8 minutes until leaves soften.

  4. Remove outer leaves gently; repeat until you have 12–14 workable leaves.

    • Trim the thick stem/rib so the leaves roll easily.

In a large bowl combine:

  • Ground beef

  • Cooked rice

  • Chopped onion

  • Garlic

  • Egg

  • Salt, pepper, paprika

Mix gently until combined.

3. Assemble the Rolls

  1. Lay a cabbage leaf flat.

  2. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling at the stem end.

  3. Fold sides in, then roll up tightly like a burrito.

  4. Place seam-side down in a Dutch oven or deep baking dish.
