Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 8×12-inch casserole dish or baking dish.
Prepare the Ground Beef:
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat (optional, for extra flavor). Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain any excess fat.
Prepare the Potatoes:
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly (about 1/8-inch thick slices). You can use a mandolin or knife for uniform slices.
Mix the Sauces:
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of cheddar soup, and milk. Stir until smooth.
Assemble the Casserole:
- In the greased casserole dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes.
- Spread a portion of the cooked ground beef mixture on top.
- Pour some of the soup mixture over the beef.
- Sprinkle about 1/3 of the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final layer of shredded cheddar cheese.
