Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Melt the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish (you can pop the dish in the oven while it preheats).

In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and milk together until smooth.

Pour the batter into the dish over the melted butter — do not stir.

Spoon the fruit (and its syrup) evenly over the top of the batter — again, don’t stir.

Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. 🍦
💡 Tips & Variations:

If you don’t have self-rising flour, mix:
→ 1 cup all-purpose flour + 1½ tsp baking powder + ¼ tsp salt -
Try with fresh berries, apples + cinnamon, or cherries for different versions.

For a less sweet version, reduce sugar to ¾ cup.
