Feta Cheese Stuffed Bread

Topping

  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for brushing)

  • Sesame or nigella seeds (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Rest 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until soft and smooth.

  3. Cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled in size.

  4. Mix all filling ingredients in a bowl.

  5. Divide dough into 2–3 balls. Roll each into a circle.

  6. Place filling in the center, fold edges over, and seal well.

  7. Gently flatten slightly and place on a lined baking tray.

  8. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle seeds if using.

  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, until golden.

  10. Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

  • Add spinach or green onions to the filling.

  • Use naan or pizza dough for a quick version.

  • Serve with honey or chili oil for a sweet–savory twist.

  • Best enjoyed fresh but reheats well in the oven.
