🌶️ Homemade Chili (Classic & Hearty)
Ingredients
Base

1–1.5 lbs ground beef (or turkey, pork, or a mix)

1 large onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced
Liquids & Tomatoes

1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

1 (14–15 oz) can diced tomatoes

1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
-
1–2 cups beef broth (adjust for thickness)
Beans (optional — add or skip!)

1 can kidney beans, drained
-
1 can black beans or pinto beans, drained
Seasoning

2 tbsp chili powder
-
1 tbsp ground cumin
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1 tsp salt (to taste)

½ tsp black pepper
-
½–1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tsp sugar (balances acidity)
Optional Flavors

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tbsp tomato jam or ketchup
-
1 tsp cocoa powder (adds depth!)

½ tsp cinnamon (very subtle warmth)
