🧑‍🍳 Instructions

1. Brown the meat

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook ground beef over medium-high heat.

  • Drain excess fat if needed.

2. Sauté the veggies

  • Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic.

  • Cook 5 minutes until softened.

3. Add spices

  • Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  • Stir and let spices toast for 1 minute.

4. Add tomatoes and liquids

  • Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste.

  • Add 1–2 cups beef broth depending on how thick you like your chili.

5. Add beans (if using)

  • Stir in drained beans.

6. Simmer

  • Reduce heat to low.

  • Cover and simmer 30–60 minutes (longer = richer flavor).

  • Taste and adjust: salt, heat, sweetness, etc.
