Ingredients

For the Donut Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for rolling)

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the Maple Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup

  • 2–3 tbsp milk (adjust for thickness)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp melted butter

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional: ½ tsp maple extract for stronger flavor
