Honey-Glazed Ham

  • Make the glaze:

    • In a saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar.

    • Add cloves and cinnamon if using.

    • Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture is syrupy (about 5 minutes).

  • Glaze and bake:

    • Brush half the glaze over the ham.

    • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 1½ to 2 hours (about 15 minutes per pound), basting every 20–30 minutes.

  • Caramelize:

    • In the last 20 minutes, remove the foil and brush with the remaining glaze.

    • Let it bake uncovered until the outside is glossy and caramelized.

  • Rest and serve:

    • Let the ham rest 15–20 minutes before slicing.

    • Drizzle any pan juices over the slices for extra flavor.

  • 💡 Tips

    • For extra flavor, use pineapple juice instead of vinegar or orange juice in the glaze.

    • Leftover ham makes great sandwiches, omelets, or soups!

    • You can reduce the remaining glaze on the stovetop to make a honey-mustard sauce for serving.
