Ingredients

For the steak

  • 250–300 g beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced against the grain

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp oil

For the stir-fry

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 1 bell pepper (green or mixed colors), sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1–2 tbsp oil (for cooking)

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but recommended)

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2–3 tbsp water or beef stock

  • ½ tsp cornstarch
